We’re Ikono AS, a Norwegian company based in Oslo, Norway – our organizational number is 920 320 449. Ikono AS was started by photographer Mats Bakken early 2018. – the wonderful place you’re at right now was launched late 2018.

2 Personal Information

To provide you with the best shopping experience possible we rely on collection some personal information on you as a customer. Personal information is data that can be used to identify you as a customer. We will under no circumstances share this information with an outside third-party. We collect personal information so we’re able to fulfill and deliver your order. Examples of the information we collect in different stages on the site.

3 Data Collection

When you make a purchase, we collect information such as your name, email, phone number and delivery address. This information is necessary to deliver the products to you. By entering your email address we are able to send you your order information, receipt and follow up later in the process if necessary.

We do not send you direct marketing without you actively giving consent.

When using the site some data will be collected automatically like country code, IP-address, device information, login and time spent on site. We use Google Analytics to register this data, user movement and engagement on the site.


4 Why we collect data

Some of the data we collect like purchase and billing information is mandatory by Norwegian Law. Data like your address and contact information is necessary to process and deliver your order. Other data is optional. When you opt-in to our mailing list we use this information to send you newsletters and promotional offers, for example, holiday discounts and newsletters to show you new work by photographers you may have purchased from before. You can always opt-out of the email list.

We also use cookies so we can adapt our site to give you a better user experience and show products relevant to you. By using cookies, we can see if you’ve visited our site before, restore abandoned shopping carts and give you a personalized view of the store.


5 How we collect data

Some of the data collection is done automatically by third party applications like Google Analytics and Monster Insight, that track user movement around and preferences on the site.

We use Klayvio to store your e-mail and to send you follow-up e-mails if necessary, and to send you promotional offers if you’ve opted in on that.

We use Shopify as our e-commerce platform to receive and process your orders.

We do not store any of your card or payment information. All payment/card information is transferred directly on a secure connection to our payment providers Stripe and Vipps.

6 How we protect your data

All our service providers and servers are located in Norway. Our website is also encrypted with an SSL certificate that encrypts all the data on the site.

We and our service providers constantly update our plugins and sites to ensure that they’re up to date with the latest encryption and safety measurements.

We will under no circumstances sell or give away your personal data like e-mail and billing information to a third party, neither will any of our partners.


7 Where we send/store your data

Sub-Contractors / Plugins with access to some data:

  • ProISP – our web host – located in Norway – stores all the data on the site.
  • MailChimp / Klayvio – where we store our email-lists.
  • Google Analytics (Track traffic on the site, page and product view, page searches etc.
  • Shopify – our e-commerce platform – Stores order, shipping.
  • Stripe / Vipps – our payment providers – sent securely and encrypted.


8 – Data Insight

9 – Data Deletion

Some of the information we collect like billing and shipping is by law illegal to delete. However, if you wish to get the personal data collected on you deleted – get in touch by our contact forms or by email


10 – How and why we use Cookies

IKONO’s website contains cookies. These cookies are used for various functions such as retargeting of ads, easier account login, and product displays.

When you visit and navigate the website your web browsers can collect and store small pieces of data known as “cookies.” Your information gathered by browser cookies is then sent back to IKONO’s server which tracks and records your behavior on the website. This allows IKONO to send posts or ads to you on other services like Instagram, Facebook, and other social media.
